London, England

So, I'm here. I had a great (despite the 2 1/2 hour delay - boo, baggae handlers!) flight from HK and a very quick path through customs and etc. to get out of the airport. I couldn't see a sign with my name on it, and my phone was dying, so I went to the info counter where, after struggling through my big packpack, I found the charger and got it charged up for 5 minutes. When it was charged, I checked to see if Claire had messaged, she hadn't, and so I decided to try to find Kev on my own. I eventually saw someone who didn't appear to be a driver with a sign, and so sidled up next to him (like a HK suit salesman) and looked at his sign. He spied me, and turned the sign around and lo and behold, it was Kev! And thank you, Kev, for coming all the way to pick me up and take me home, I really don't know how I would have done it at that time of night. We had a delightful drive home, and Claire got up to have a chat before we both crashed. I'd kept myself awake for most of the flight to try to avoid too much jetlag. Seems to have worked a bit!
I spent Sunday (have figured out what days are what... at least for the moment) hanging out with the family - Dylan is fabulous, so expressive and chatty and absolutely delightful! Kev and Claire generously took me to a shopping centre, braving post xmas sales, to get a warm jacket, and I succeeded - got a great jacket for £60 (which I think is about $120Aus) and it is so nice! Spent the rest of Sunday at the British Leagues club with Kev's family, before Claire and Dylan and I came home - and we were all in bed by 9! Nice!

  1. Fantastic that you were rescued from the airport. Fantastic Kev especially so late at night. Great to hear about Claire and Dylan too. Coat sounds good - from the forecasts you are going to need it!!

  2. It's great - it's like a jumper, only a coat, the only annoying thing is that now I am not going to need the two jumpers I brought! Ah well!
